My chapter-by-chapter simplified version of Huck Finn:

1.      Chillin with the Widow

2.      Fool Jim, the Gang

3.      Pap, Tom’s Arab joke

4.      Pap’s footprints, $, Pap

5.      Pap was there in his room, Pap and the judge

6.      Pap essentially kidnaps him, racist, points the gun at daddy

7.      Huck’s awesome plan

8.      Really happy at how it turned out, meeting Jim

9.      The dead man in the house, get a butt ton of new stuff

10.  Set up for dressing like a girl

11.  Experience dressed up like a girl, running from whoever

12.  The steamboat; the raft is gone at the end

13.  Huck saves the criminals on the steamboat, got the skiff and took off

14.  King Sollermum

15.  Meeting the goddess original idea – Jim thinks Huck is dead, Huck feels bad

16.  Feels bad about letting Jim run away; lies to save Jim; big steamboat crashes into them and lands them on the shore

17.  Meet the Grangerfords and Shepherdsons; watch him completely forget about Jim; Buck and him; poetry and Emmeline

18.  Entire Grangerfords and Shepherdsons ordeal; crying for Buck; feel better on the raft with Jim

19.  Meeting the Duke and the King

20.  Duke and the King; the camp meeting

21.  Their awful acting, Sherburn shoots Boggs, he oughta be lynched

22.  Sherburn’s speech; circus

23.  Talk about King and Duke, Jim’s touching story about his daughter

24.  The beginning of the Wilks incident; Huck super disillusioned with them

25.  Just the Duke and King being stupid

26.  Huck loves the family, the Duke and King’s plan for money

27.  Hides the money in the coffin, funeral, blames the slaves

28.  Get the girls out of town

29.  Two more frauds show up, they check the coffin and Huck books it, then the Duke and the King return

30.  Duke and the king bickering, duke takes the fall

31.  Atonement with father, apotheosis

32.  Start of the return, goes over to the farm and goes along with it, panics until he finds out he’s Tom Sawyer

33.  Meets Tom: rescue from without?; agree to free Jim, duke and king feathered

34.  Tom’s development of his plan, they go in and talk to Jim

35.  More crazy ideas – Huck should only steal what he NEEDS; letting-on

36.  More crazy things; superstition and whatnot

37.  Huck and Tom confusing the poor nice woman

38.  Coat of arms, rattlesnake, tears

39.  Tom’s warning letter

40.  Jim getting free, Tom gets shot, they get a doctor

41.  Return to the house; “I’m going to leave the door unlocked but be a good boy”; he sees her waiting out and can’t do it

42.  The doctor tells, they fetch Jim, Tom tells the story and reveals that Jim’s actually free, everything comes out

43.  Everything’s gonna be okay, Huck’s gonna chill with Tom, Pap’s dead
