idliketosurvivetheadventure: I like how Dick continuously tries to determine if his friends are alive in this sequence. Like, it’s an obvious concern to have, but he really does spend the entire scene going “I think Donna’s still breathing, is Wally? Is Raven? I don’t think she is, but she might still be okay, I don’t know” every third line or so, and it makes him sound genuinely afraid, like that worry is constantly at the forefront of his mind for the entire fight and he has to keep double-checking. It just makes the whole thing very emotionally real — I actually believe that he believes they might die here, and his love for his friends really shines through. I just really like this scene, okay.
